Polishing compound Abramax 8/4 LEA – Grey – for pre-polishing /for ferrous metals/ ~800 [g]

The Abramaxt LEA 8/4 is a medium-strong cutting abrasive pre-polishing rod, especially for ferrous metals. It provides a good surface smoothing, brushed effect with a slightly coloured finish. Medium to fine surface roughness, medium gloss.

“… abrasive and polishing pastes contain 50-60 % abrasive grit, the remainder being agglutinating fats and oils. The pastes can be graded on two scales of value, the degree of abrasion and the surface gloss. While the former shows how much material is being removed (how coarse the paste contains), the surface gloss scale shows how glossy the paste can be used to produce a surface. The two metrics are inversely related, except for some pastes. So, with a high material separation, you will get a lower surface gloss. ”

“If you want to achieve a silky sheen, pre-sand with a grey Extracut or Abramax paste and a dense-seam rag wheel after sanding P280.”
