Description

The DT Grinder DTG-KS1-230 knife sharpener is designed for bevel sharpening. Its use is simple and quick to learn, allowing anyone to sharpen their knives and scissors professionally.

The machine is made up of two aluminium rollers and mostly steel parts. The surface treatment is electrostatic powder coating and galvanizing to high quality standards. The knife clamps are made of 51CrV4 heat-treated steel, while the wear and support surfaces are made of high wear resistant hardox plate, thus ensuring durability and long service life.

Its belt speed is 5[m/s], which in our experience is the optimum slow speed for a sharpening operation, but still sufficient to work efficiently.
Belt changes are fast, ensuring efficient work. Its capacity is around 10 to 15 blades per hour, depending on the condition of the blade.

The single-speed sharpener (DTG-KS1-230) can be operated from a single-phase mains supply (230 [V]).

I have been using a DTG KS1 single-phase sharpener for two months and am very satisfied. It is a very cleverly designed and precisely manufactured machine and the videos show that it is easy for anyone to learn how to use. You don’t need anything better for sharpening knives and scissors. I am totally convinced by this device.
You don’t need to spend hours sharpening with a stone, and it’s not easy to hold the edge with your bare hands anyway. The DTG-KS1 solves that too.
I have been sharpening with a grinding mop, I have branded water grinders, grinding wheels, but since I got this DTG-KS1, I only use them for sharpening chisels. With the KS1 it is quicker and easier to sharpen knives and scissors and the result is excellent. Accessories, belts can be ordered cheaply without simply running out.
I can only recommend it to everyone!!!

Just for reference with a BESS sharpening gauge:
Using your KS1 sharpener, I sharpened a Victorinox kitchen knife that started at 620 (completely dull) by taking 1-2 pulls per abrasive belt on a total of 3 belts (from coarse to fine, of course).I then used the leather belt and green paste to remove the burr and got down to 132 (at a cutting angle of 30 degrees). I then made 20 strokes on the leather without paste and measured 102 on the first sharpening attempt (this is between the sharpness of a traditional straight razor and a razor blade).
In my opinion, this is exceptionally good and speaks for your device. (With other sharpeners, you need a lot more practice – if it is possible at all).
I think with more practice the result will be even better, although this is not of great importance as I think 102 is already dangerously sharp for practical use. But it shows what your device can do.
The durability remains to be seen, but I haven’t noticed any overheating, the burr has been cleanly removed and everything should be fine. Congratulations on this device!”

I almost bought a wet sander, but then I saw this machine somewhere, looked at the website and the videos and ordered it.
It’s a very simple and very well thought-out device. Perfectly finished, nothing clattery, robust, real industrial feel, yet elegant. It’s for work, not for play : ) Nevertheless, sharpening with it is child’s play.

I got my hands on the KS1 (180w/230V). After an hour and a half and 18 different types of knives and 3 pairs of scissors, I couldn’t find anything to sharpen at home. Very simple but high-quality device. Compact, handy and easy to use. With a little skill, you can easily sharpen a razor-sharp blade. I have never sharpen a knife poorly with it. I have also tried the P600 and P1200 sharpening belts with perfect results. I have sharpened surgical scissors, garden shears and school paper scissors with them. They all turned out great. My expectations were absolutely fulfilled. I used up the first set of tapes in two days. They were enough for about 35 knives.

I was able to make an edge to my expectations!

I needed a device to sharpen a knife.
I used to try sharpening with a whetstone, but it didn’t work and the results were often pathetic. I work as a chef, so I use my knives a lot. The edge of my knives became blunt quickly.
