Titanium plate 4 x 200 x 200 [mm] GR5

Titanium plates have become a popular material due to their outstanding strength-to-weight ratio, excellent corrosion resistance and durability. They are around 40% lighter than steel, yet provide high strength. This makes them ideal for applications where both durability and low weight are important.

Key features:

Corrosion resistant material

Density: ~4.5 g/cm³ (significantly lighter than steel)

Good heat resistance and weldability

Usage: knife for motherboards, complete titanium chassis.

Titanium materials are used in various with “Grade” (GR) numbers are marked. This number indicates the strength, hardness and machinability of the material.

GR2 (pure titanium, low strength, high ductility):
Easy to form, easy to machine. It has a lower strength but is flexible and easy to shape. It is ideal when ease of machinability is a key consideration.

GR3 (intermediate solution, a good compromise):
More powerful than GR2, but still very malleable. Its corrosion resistance is similarly excellent. A good choice if you need more strength but don’t want to give up ease of machinability completely.

GR5 (alloy titanium, Ti-6Al-4V):
The best known and most widely used titanium alloy. Very high tensile strength (above ~1000 MPa), harder and more durable than pure titanium grades. Harder to form but offers the best strength-to-weight ratio, making it the most popular choice for industrial and craft applications.
