Damasteel® DS93X Damascus steel – Rose™ – 32 × 3 [mm] – Available to CM

The Damasteel DS93X™ is a martensitic stainless damascus steel produced using Damasteel’s proprietary powder metallurgy technology.

The material is made up of two different steels, RWL34™ and PMC27™, which have different compositions to ensure a distinctive pattern after etching.

Thanks to powder metallurgical production, the steel has a very clean and homogeneous structure, which allows for stable machining and a reliable end result.

Use

Damasteel recommends that the material is suitable:

• for the manufacture of knives and cutlery
• to make jewellery
• for applications requiring corrosion resistance and hardness

Heat treatment

The final properties of Damasteel DS93X™ steel can be achieved by appropriate heat treatment. The material is shipped in an annealed condition and therefore requires heat treatment prior to use.

The table below shows examples of hardness values for different heat treatment combinations, with the hardness of each layer (RWL34™ and PMC27™) shown separately.
