51CrV4 is a high toughness spring steel often used by knifemakers for blades and tools designed for heavy duty use. Its good mechanical properties, load capacity and flexibility make it an excellent choice for outdoor, bushcraft and work knives.

The steel has good impact resistance, making it particularly suitable for larger knives, machetes, axes or other heavy-duty tools.

51CrV4 can be heat treated well and with the right technology can be made into a hard yet durable blade.
