The Norton BLAZE R980P abrasive belt is recommended for use with adjustable belt speed sharpening machines, which should be used at maximum speed (12 m/s). It is specifically recommended for larger material removal and maintenance operations, such as thinning and re-profiling of blades.

Norton Blaze R980P made with next-generation Norton SG ceramic alumina grain that cuts cool on steels, cobalt, chrome, Iconel and titanium. A lubricating grinding aid provides burn-free grinding while minimizing loading and helping improve part integrity. The long-lasting belt has a waterproof Y-weight polyester cloth backing for good body retention, improved grain adhesion and reduced edge fray.
